02 / Vote by absentee ballot

Vote on your own schedule.

No excuse required

Any eligible registered Connecticut voter can apply. Online applications opened September 19; ballots began being issued October 2.

Request yours early. Follow the ballot’s instructions, print and sign your name on the return envelope, and return it to your Town Clerk.

Receipt deadline: 8:00 p.m. on November 3. A postmark alone does not meet the deadline.

Not registered? Recently moved?

There’s still a way to vote.

Register online or update your registration by Friday, October 16.

Miss that deadline? Eligible voters can register and vote during early voting or on November 3 at their town’s designated Same-Day Registration site. On Election Day, this is not your regular polling place.

Bring proof of identity and residency. Arrive early and confirm your registration location with your town’s Registrars of Voters.

Your voter toolkit

Get ready before you go.

Look up your information, preview the ballot, and find answers from Connecticut election officials.

Sample ballots are added by town as they become available. In towns with multiple districts, choose the ballot for your address.

A few helpful answers

Good questions. Clear answers.

Do I need a reason to vote early or by absentee ballot?

No. Registered voters can vote early in person without an application. For an absentee ballot, you must apply, but you do not need to give an excuse. Read the state’s absentee guidance.

How do I return my absentee ballot?

Use the return envelope supplied with your ballot and print and sign your name. Return it by mail, at your Town Clerk’s office, or through your town’s secure ballot drop box. The Town Clerk must receive it by 8:00 p.m. on November 3. Contact your Town Clerk for the current drop box location.

Can I vote early on a weekend?

Yes. Early voting is available every day from October 19 through November 1, including both Saturdays and Sundays. Standard hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; October 27 and 29 have extended hours.

What if I need to register on the day I vote?

Same-Day Registration is available during early voting and on Election Day for eligible voters. Bring proof of identity and residency to the designated site in your town. Confirm the location before you go; Election Day registration is not available at ordinary polling places.

Pick a day. Make a plan. Bring a friend.

Decide when you’ll vote, confirm where you’re going, and set a reminder. Questions? Contact Team Perry at info@voteforjackperry.com.
