Perry Campaign Releases Energy Platform
For Connecticut families, the unjustly-high cost of energy remains a top priority. Our state needs to take action immediately to actually create a lasting alternative. I will be that change.
This is why my campaign has just released a complete policy platform on the electricity crisis. Look through yourself here: https://www.voteforjackperry.com/platform.pdf
While the national average sits at 17.5 cents per kWh, Connecticut families are drowning at 28 cents per kWh. Eversource has complete control over the energy industry in many parts of the state, and we're suffering financially as a result.
Connecticut needs publicly-owned power grids. Seven towns (Bozrah, Norwich, Groton, Wallingford, Jewett City, and Norwalk) already have them, and the results show clear success with far lower rates than anywhere else in the state. These are nonprofit operations with a goal in mind to serve their residents, not shareholders. Competition in the free market can encourage low prices- but not when just one or two giant corporations have control over the entire market. Eversource is gouging Connecticut families of their money, and it's time we put an end to it.
