I strongly support a single-payer Medicare-for-All proposal for all Americans. Healthcare is an issue that Democrats have fought for years to strengthen. As Republicans try to gut what little relief the government provides for healthcare through subsidies, Democrats need to counter by taking a bold position that guarantees adequate healthcare to every single American. 

While the Affordable Care Act made great strides, working people understand how much further we must go. It was progress, but deductibles are still too high and the care isn’t adequate enough. Countries that have a guaranteed healthcare system, whether it be single-payer or a public option, have cheaper rates and better results. America can do the same, but our politicians make a choice to put their corporate donors first. I will not stand for this in Hartford.
